Information
Big bags are large sacks unloaded by crane.
Big bag capacity :
- 40cm (white big bag): 2.50 steres
- 30cm (red big bag): 2.50 steres
- 25cm (red big bag): 2.75 steres
Advantages :
- Unbeatable price.
- Open the bags and put the logs away at your own pace.
- Delivery by crane: allows you to cross a hedge, for example.
Why are big bags cheaper? Because it's extremely quick and easy to produce and deliver (just a few minutes per customer). It's much quicker than delivering iron boxes, for example. The wood is exactly the same as in all our other products. The only difference is that the wood is not sorted, so there is some small wood offered, which you can use as kindling.

Delivery by moving floor is only possible by full truck.
We deliver by moving floor up to 900km (Benelux, France).
Toutes les tailles de bûches sont disponibles. 50, 45, 40, 33, 30, 28, 25cm… Le prix au stère est identique.
Un fond mouvant chargé complètement contient 90m3 vrac. Cela correspond à 75 stères en 50cm, 80 stères en 40cm, 90 stères en 30cm. However, we are not always able to load completely due to the weight. We adjust the invoice according to the quantity loaded.
Nous vous envoyons toujours une photo du chargement pour garantir une transparence sur la quantité. Nous calculons avec précision la quantité chargée.

Species
Our products contain a minimum of 95% of hardwood: oak, hornbeam, ash and beech. These are the best types of firewood, recommended by the NF standard.
If you need specific essences, please contact us.
Humidity
We offer wood sec and wood medium-dry :
- Wood sec Average moisture content less than 23%. Ready to burn.
- Wood medium-dry Moisture content: approximately 20 to 30%. Best burned in at least 2 to 3 months.
Base prices are always displayed in wood. medium-dry.

Our family company Sotransbois, is located in the heart of the Ardennes forests. So our wood comes from the Ardennes one of the largest forest areas in Europe.
The Ardennes are particularly rich in oak, hornbeam, ash and beech: the best species for firewood.
Where are we located?
Our company is located in France, in the Ardennes, just below the Belgian border.
Our address : 2475 Route de Fumay, 08230 Gué-d'Hossus.

Is the wood in a big bag the same as in a crate?
Yes, the wood in the big bag is the same as in our other products. It is the same mix of hardwoods (oak, hornbeam, ash, beech).
The only difference is that the big bags contain some offcuts and small pieces of wood. You can use these small pieces as firelighters.
In the iron boxes and pallets, The wood is sorted by hand, so there is virtually no waste.
How do we dry the wood?
Our four-hectare yard allows us to store a large quantity of logs. The wood is split when it is about 2 years old. It is then stored in crates. These are ideal conditions for drying the wood. So we have a year-round supply of wood. sec, and wood medium-dry.
How is payment made?
Payment is by cash or cheque on delivery. Other rules may apply, particularly for full lorries.
Can I place a group order?
Yes, we're used to group orders.
Note: The prices shown on this page are valid for a single delivery point. In the case of grouped orders, degressive rates may apply on a case-by-case basis. Please send us the details of the order by email with the addresses of each customer. We will send you a price list based on the order.
When is the best time to order?
We have good prices all year round on wood medium-dry, even in winter.
The wood sec is obviously more expensive, especially in winter.
